Performance marketing starts before you launch an ad
Paid campaigns are easier to improve when the basics are in place before the budget starts moving. The ad is only one part of the journey; the offer, audience, landing page, tracking and follow-up all affect results.
Define the outcome first: qualified leads, purchases, booked calls or another business action. Check that analytics records the right events and that the landing page delivers on the ad promise. Build a few creative variations with clear hypotheses, monitor lead quality as well as click costs, and give tests enough time and data to be useful. Review spend regularly, document learnings and avoid promising results that the data cannot support.
Put the basics in place
Good digital marketing is a process of understanding your audience, making a clear promise, measuring the right actions and improving based on what you learn. Choose a few meaningful priorities rather than trying to optimise everything at once.
Make progress measurable
Set a baseline before making changes. Review both leading indicators and business outcomes, and treat early results as signals—not guarantees. The right approach will vary with your market, offer, resources and customer journey.
